Health Programs Manager at Trident United Way
Tell us a little about you.
I am a Charleston native, a graduate of both Clemson and USC (shocking I know!), and a passionate health and wellness advocate. I love living in the lowcountry and working as the Health Programs Manager at Trident United Way. My hobbies include cooking, staying active (yoga, running, kayaking, biking), playing board games, and spending time with my family. I believe strongly that everyone in our community should have access to nutritious food, safe parks, clean air, and healthcare. I want to help shape our environment so the healthiest choice is the easiest one. In my free time you can find me listening to live music, playing volleyball, walking my dog, or relaxing at the beach!
Why is CHBC important to you?
Charleston often wins awards for being one of the best places in the country to live, work, and play. I think a big reason for that is our strong, healthy, and active workforce. CHBC is so important because it offers the tools and resources employers need to keep their employees healthy and resilient. Our CHBC awards provide a benchmark for all area companies to work toward, and I take pride in knowing our award winners are among the best places to work in our region. Support from our city, area hospitals, nonprofits, and businesses makes CHBC a powerful multi-sector initiative that I'm proud to be a part of.
Where is your favorite spot in Charleston?
I love spending time on the water exploring all of our beautiful local marshes and wetlands. Kayaking and boating along our many rivers and creeks helps me stay refreshed and connected to the environment. My favorite spot is probably Shem Creek where you can usually spot dolphins!
What is something still left on your bucket list?
I love all of the amazing food and restaurant options we have in Charleston. I feel like I have a running list of places I haven't tried yet! One place on my bucket list to visit is Frannie and the Fox downtown because I've heard such great things.
