SC Healthy Business Fellowship

The South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship brings together workplace leaders from across the state who are committed to advancing the health and wellbeing of their workforce. Through peer learning, collaboration, and shared expertise, Fellows explore practical strategies and implement solutions that support healthier workplaces and stronger, more resilient communities.

About the Fellowship

The South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship is a selective, interdisciplinary network of workplace leaders from across South Carolina. Fellows bring diverse perspectives and shared commitment to learning from one another, collaborating across sectors, and advancing practical solutions that support a healthier future for people, workplaces, and communities.

Fellow Commitment:

Fellows are expected to participate in all four half-day, in-person sessions held throughout the year. Sessions take place across South Carolina, including the Lowcountry, Midlands, and Upstate regions, and are designed to support shared learning, relationship-building, and meaningful engagement throughout the Fellowship experience.

Quarterly Sessions:

Each session focuses on a key aspect of organizational wellbeing. Topics may include policy and culture change, health-supportive systems and practices, leadership strategies, and the role of the built environment in supporting employee health and wellbeing. Sessions are interactive and emphasize practical application, peer learning, and real-world examples.

Fellowship Recognition:

Upon completing the Fellowship, participants are recognized as South Carolina Healthy Business Fellows. Fellows join a growing network of workplace leaders across the state who are committed to advancing workforce health and wellbeing through collaboration, shared learning, and action.

This recognition reflects each Fellow’s commitment to leadership in organizational wellbeing and provides continued connection to a statewide community of peers working to create healthier workplaces and communities.

Fellowship Highlights

Personalized Organizational Coaching

Fellows receive individualized guidance and support to help translate learning into action within their organization. Through evidence-informed tools and frameworks, Fellows reflect on current wellbeing practices and identify opportunities for growth and improvement, with ongoing support from SCHBC mentors. This support may include an initial worksite conversation and continued check-ins throughout the Fellowship to help apply strategies in ways that align with each organization’s culture and capacity.

Cohort Gatherings

Fellows participate in half-day, in-person sessions throughout the year designed to foster peer connection, shared learning, and collaboration. These gatherings create space to exchange ideas, learn from one another’s experiences, and build relationships with fellow workplace leaders from across South Carolina.

Measurable Organizational Impact

Throughout the Fellowship, Fellows are encouraged to reflect on and assess the impact of their efforts on employee wellbeing. Through shared learning, practical tools, and peer discussion, organizations gain insight into how leadership actions and wellbeing strategies contribute to meaningful, measurable improvements over time.
